Referenced as an “exclusive, well-connected seaside village where everyone likes to party” Shaldon, South Devon hit the Sunday Times list for the very first time. The judges have travelled the lengths and breadths of the UK looking for contenders, assessing a number of factors including, green spaces, the health of the high street, access to amenities as well as community spirit.

This picturesque village not only caught the judges eyes for its beautiful georgian houses and wooded cliff face but also for the many pubs and restaurants, one of the reasons why Shaldon is otherwise known as “a quaint English drinking village with a fishing problem”. Sitting on the opposite side of the Teign estuary, just a short ferry ride or walk, Shaldon is considered the posh bit of the seaside resort of Teignmouth. It's many of these factors that also makes Shaldon, South Devon the ideal hot spot for your seaside holiday and cottage is a prime example of what makes Shaldon so popular, a traditional fisherman's cottage with a modern twist and just 50 meters from the water.

Shaldon was also praised for its many events that everyone tirelessly gets involved in including its famous summer regatta, beach bonfire and the Boxing Day three-legged race. A true reflection of the effort and hard work Shaldon’s community puts into welcoming people from far and wide to enjoy their delightful seaside village.
